Meet the Staff

All of our members of staff are dedicated to creating a safe, happy, caring and educational environment for your child.

The core team hold qualified status to NVQ3 with management qualified to post / undergraduate degree level. All staff have access to diverse training opportunities in order to develop as individuals and to achieve continuous improvement within the nursery.

Whilst working full-time at The Howard Nursery School, I have completed both my Foundation Degree in Early Years Care and Education and BA (hons) Early Years Education and Practice.   I have worked in educational  settings for over 15 years with experience in Early Years and Key Stage 1 for 12 years.  I have two children, lead the youngest 'Kids Church' group at my church for children aged under 5 and hold the additional role of Children's Champion at church.  I have also lead a Brownie Unit for over 7 years and have been involved with Girlguiding for almost 20 years in a variety of roles.  In my spare time I enjoy walking and reading.

Deputy Manager/Pre School Room Leader - Sharon Rickard

I have a BTEC in childcare and an NNEB, an NVQ in Management and hold my Level 3 Certificate Forest School Leader.  I have worked in numerous Early Years settings for over 20 years.  I have 3 children and enjoy spending time with them doing a variety of activities including going to the gym, ice skating, shopping and going to the theatre.

  Nursery Nurses

All of our core Nursery Nurses are Level 3 qualified or working towards their Level 3 and have a number of years of experience between them.  They all hold their Paediatric First Aid Qualification and undertake a variety of CPD training including ELKLAN training (a communication and language training), Autism awareness, Safeguarding, Prevent and FGM.

Through regular training and continuing professional development, the nursery school team is kept up to date with the latest developments in the Early Years Foundation Stage.  We have a high ratio of adults to children, ensuring individual care and attention at all times and there are always at least two members of staff that are fully qualified in paediatric first aid on site.
